The Swami Vivekananda School Code of Conduct: Character, Discipline, and Service
Rooted in the philosophy of **Man-Making Education**—building character, strength, and self-reliance.
1. Cultivating Respect and Routine (Self-Discipline)
- Greeting & Punctuality: Students must **greet parents** before coming to school and **come to school on time**. *This discipline teaches the value of **Routine** and respect for time, crucial for focusing the mind.*
- Order in Movement: It is compulsory for all students to **walk in the school campus with their hands at the back**. Students must move in a line without noise. *This promotes **Concentration** and quiet order, reflecting inner discipline.*
- Peer Respect: Every student will address the other students as **Brother/Sister**. *This is essential for fostering the spirit of **Universal Brotherhood** and compassion.*
2. Responsibility and Physical Strength
- Hygiene and Dress Code: All students must be habitually **clean and neatly dressed**. The House Leader/Teachers will daily check uniforms, nails, and hair. (Boys' hair short in simple cut; girls' hair in two plates.) **A student not properly dressed will not be allowed to attend classes.** *External cleanliness reflects **Purity** and **Self-Respect**.*
- Vehicle Usage: Students must **park their vehicles properly** only in the parking area. Students are **not allowed to use motorcycles** without a valid license. Parking for 2-wheelers is only for license holders. Students can use their own **bicycles**. *This instills adherence to law and prioritizes **Physical Fitness** ("Be strong, my young friends!").*
- Misbehavior: Students will be **suspended from school** if found misbehaving with teachers or other students. *Unwavering commitment to moral conduct and mutual **Respect**.*
3. Community and Accountability (Service)
- Informing Staff: It is the **duty of students to inform the staff room** if a teacher is not in the class. *Encourages **Accountability** and prevents the wastage of learning time.*
- School Environment: Every student should **keep the school campus neat and clean**. *Promotes the **Spirit of Service (Karma Yoga)** and respect for the community space.*
- Function Attendance: It is **compulsory for students to attend all the functions** of the school. *Builds **Community Spirit** and holistic engagement.*
- Home Communication: Every student must **convey all school notices properly to their parents**. *Ensures effective home-school partnership.*
- After School: Each and every student should **go home directly after school**. There will be **no responsibility of the school** in case of any mishap after school hours. *Stresses **Self-Reliance** and promptness.*
